Welcome to American Wiping Rags™- AWR. My name is Shelley McPherson, owner and CEO of AWR, which I established in Pueblo West, Colorado in 2003.
Why Rags?
I wanted to make a difference in the world. I was raised to recycle and decided to start my own business where I could make a difference and keep lots of extra stuff out of the landfills. I buy materials for the rags that can be recycled or reused before they end up in the landfills.
American Wiping Rags™ manufactures nine different types of disposable rags. All rags are from recycled 100% cotton, which are very clean, and lint free. The disposable line may be packaged in 10 lb. or 20 lb. bags or by the pallet.
Microfiber – Instead of paper towel
I also carry a microfiber line. The microfiber line is a material, which may be used over and over and over by simply washing in the laundry with regular laundry soap. As long as you don’t use direct bleach, liquid fabric softener or dryer sheets you will have them for a long time. The microfiber material can be put in the dryer or air dried.

How we’re different
American Wiping Rags™ does not require a binding service contract like some of our competitors. Another service that AWR offers the commercial or residential customer is custom-cut materials to fit the size needed for their job.
AWR does not pick up the used rags to be washed because when it’s time to reorder it ensures our customers will get clean rags every time. Some customers wash their own or throw them away. All rags are disposable and biodegradable because they are made from cotton, which is a raw (natural) product.
American Wiping Rags’ policies have proven very popular with our customers over the years. We hope you enjoy them as much as the rest of our customers have!
